July, 1990 through July, 1994 Preparation and Planting
Century Freeway (Clark Manor) Caltrans Project.

Marathon II Dwarf Fescue Sod. Soil was rototilled with planter mix, fertilizer (15-15-15) along with Broadleaf P4 before sodding.
After 4 years, healthy 7-inch roots cling to P4 (Note:P4 is color of dirt in the picture and cut in half on the curb.) which is now 2 to 3 inches deep in the soil.
Water Schedule and Conservation
First Two Weeks After Planting:
5 Days per week, 3 times per day, 10 minutes each station each time. Total 150 minutes.
Next Two Weeks:
4 Days per week, same schedule Total 120 minutes.
Month Two:
3 Days per week, 2 times per day, 10 minutes each station each time. Total 60 minutes.
After Two Months:
3 Days per week, 1 time per day, 10 minutes. Total 30 minutes
